About Us
Service delivery
Recreate-Auckland aspires to an ethic of empowerment and self-determination for people with disabilities and their whanau. The core services provided by Recreate-Auckland align with the objectives of the New Zealand Disability Strategy;
-
Objective 1: "Encourage and educate for a non-disabling society."
-
Objective 8: "Support quality living in the community for disabled people."
-
Objective 9: "Support lifestyle choices, recreation and culture for disabled people."
-
Objective 13: "Enable disabled children and youth to lead full and active lives."
Recreate-Auckland seeks to consult and develop alliances with other service providers. As a specialist provider, we can share expertise, resources and creative energy in the provision of recreational services for people with disabilities. Through working collaboratively we also build a strong network of providers and ensure services are not replicated in the Auckland area.
Recreate-Auckland maintains working relationships with the following major organisations; NZCCS, Special Olympics, Down Syndrome Association, Brain Injury Association, Cavit ABI Rehabilitation, Autistic Association, Paralympics New Zealand, Parafed Auckland, Laura Ferguson, Yes ability, Creative Abilities and Halberg Trust.
